Methods of Payment and Postage
If you wish to buy a particular bear or toy, you can purchase it by various methods:
1. Through the shopping cart which will lead you to a Paypal checkout. You do not need a Paypal account to use this, debit/credit cards are accepted. If outside the UK, you will need to select your country from a drop down list in order to get the relevant postage. Overseas postage will be shown as a handling charge which is added to the displayed (UK) postage. As the postage already displayed for the item is for posting within the UK, customers within the UK may ignore the drop down country list. as selecting United Kingdom will bring up £0.
It is not possible to use the online shop to pay by cheque or bank transfer, please email or phone if you need any help.

3. Direct payment to the OLD TEDDIES Paypal account (dreisuk@yahoo.com)
4. Bank transfer - details available on request. (UK and Europe only)
5. Buyers from the United States may also pay with a US dollar money order, please contact us first for the exchange rate.
It is advisable to contact us prior to buying, particularly if paying by cheque or bank transfer, so that your item can be reserved for you.
UK purchases will be posted either by Special Delivery,(items over £30) or Recorded Delivery.
Transactions outside the UK
When selecting your country from the drop down list, the postage overseas will show up as a handling charge added to the UK postage. Items will be mailed by Royal Mail International Signed For, or Royal Mail Airsure within two working days of payment being made.

You will usually receive acknowledgement of an order fairly quickly, but in any case normally within 24 hrs of our receiving it. We ask that our overseas buyers take into account any time difference when making contact.
TERMS OF SALE
By the nature of our stock, we only hold one of each item unless stated otherwise. We therefore cannot guarantee availability unless confirmation is given prior to purchase, although only in rare instances will an item still be showing on the site if it is sold. Should payment be made on an unavailable item, it will be quickly refunded to the customer.
Postage costs will be met by the buyer. All prices are in British pounds. Goods are normally posted within 2 working days of receiving payment)*, your payment will be acknowledged and you will be informed that your purchase is on its way.
* Note: Paypal echeques. Echeques differ from normal Paypal payments as they can take between 7 and 9 days to be received into our account, thereby delaying despatch of the item until that time. Obviously if the payment is received any quicker then the item will be sent sooner accordingly. More information on echeques can be found on the Paypal website.
Returns
In the unlikely event that you wish to reject your new friend, please advise us by email or letter within 7 days of receipt and send him back in the same condition as you received him. Purchase price and original postage will be refunded, return postage is the responsibility of the buyer. If any item has been inadvertently mis-described purchase price and postage costs will be refunded.
Attributions
All descriptions and attributions are given in good faith and based on many years experience. If there is any doubt about an attribution, it will be stated after the bear or toy has been researched. Any known restoration or damage will be described in the item description. Growlers, squeakers and musical mechanisms should be assumed to be inoperative unless otherwise stated.

Your name and address and/or any other personal information you provide will never be passed on to any third party. If you wish to unsubscribe from our mailing list, please email: mail@oldteddies.com.
OTHER INFORMATION
You may notice that some other bear websites offer free postage. At OLD TEDDIES, we would rather show postage as a separate entity rather than incorporate it into the price of our items. The price of old bears can vary tremendously between sellers, and we regularly check ours to ensure that they are particularly competitive. While bears are 'individuals' making direct comparisons difficult, we are confident that ours compare very favourably price-wise.
One final note about postage. Owing to differences in weight and value, occasionally the actual cost of posting will be more than the customer pays. This difference will be met by us.
Multiple Purchases
If you wish to buy more than one item, It will very often be possible to combine items in the same parcel to save on postal costs, depending on weight. Please check before buying.
Layaway and Reserves
If you wish to spread the cost of your item, please contact us, we're happy to help. Owing to the popularity of this service, we have now reduced the minimum qualifying order to £50, cost may be spread over two months for items between £50 and £100. Purchases over £100 may be spread over two or three months whichever is your preference. Please contact us if you'd like to pay this way. Layaway is at our discretion, but would only be refused in rare circumstances.
We are happy to reserve a bear for an agreed term for a small non-refundable deposit of 10%.
