This is a large straw filled Chad Valley cat, dating around the 1960s. He's unjointed with original but faded ribbon around his neck and green plastic eyes. He has an inoperative musical box mechanism in his side, with a hole in the fabric where the key would have gone. His back seam has been partially resewn (approx 3 inches).  Cat has got his Chad Valley label in his front leg seam. His mohair coverage is reasonably good with some overall thinning and he has felt paw pads. He measures about 15 inches tall by 10 inches across, excluding the tail.

This is nicely carved wooden Black Forest bear figure holding a metal bowl. He is in very good condition , there is possibly a little rubbing on the edge of the ears, but no actual damage.
These Black Forest items vary a great deal in quality, and this fellow, when examined closely, is very nice indeed. The bowl just rests lightly in his open arms. He's approximately 10 cm tall.

For those who are not familiar with her, Aunt Lucy is the more elusive aunt of Paddington Bear and consequently normally commands a higher price.

However, this poor Aunt Lucy is only partly dressed - she only wears a shawl, a hardened hat, and her cardboard tag. We think the shawl may not be original.  She has the green printed Gabrielle Designs label to her back, with 'copyright 1978' and 'world wide registration' applied for as part of the printed details. Lucy is about 18 inches tall without her hat.

This delightful doll dates from around the 1950s and is dressed in traditional Scottish costume. Her eyes open and close and she is fully jointed. She has a 'Made in England' mark embossed in a circular shape at the top of her back, but her shoes are marked 'Roddy no 2A Made in England' underneath, hence the possible attribution to this maker. Her head is made of vinyl and the rest of her from a harder plastic material. She's about 18 inches tall, and in very nice condition.

This is the first of 2 vintage Merrythought Humpty Dumpty toys that we currently have for sale. Estimated to date c. 1960s, he has his Merrythought label to the back. His eyes are made from felt and are glued to his face, and his hair and nose are yellow wool. He shows signs of age and having been played with (commensurate with age)but has no major defects.

Humpty has a loud and persistent internal bell chime (similar to Chiltern Ting a Lings for those of you familiar with these) and measures between 11 and 12 inches  tall including his dangly legs.

This is a Merrythought Yogi bear dating from the late 1950s/1960s. He's made of velveteen and although a little faded and faintly grubby from age is in reasonable condition. He still has his original eyes, claws, hat, collar and tie and Merrythought label. He measures about 10.5 inches tall.

This is an appealing blue and white straw stuffed dog dating from c. 1950s or possibly earlier. He has lost some of his mohair and is therefore a little scruffy looking, but is still a nice old doggy. Nose stitching suggests he could have been made by Merrythought or Farnell. He measures about 9 1/2 inches at the widest point and about 6 inches tall.

This is the sweetest little Steiff tabby cat. She dates from c. 1960s, although it is difficult to date her precisely as she unfortunately no longer has her ids. (button and label). However, she is a particularly adorable little cat, and would make an ideal companion for a bear or doll. She is in generally good condition, some overall thinning of mohair, but nothing that detracts from her appeal. She measures  a little over 3 inches high, and about 6 inches from tip of nose to tip of tail.

This is a typical 1960s soft toy – our Bambi type deer was made by Chiltern in a bi-coloured art silk material. She is straw stuffed.  She still has her Chiltern label, and has black feet, and plastic eyes with enormous eyelashes!  'Bambi' is in nice condition, and measures approximately 12-13" tall.
